A Night of Celebration and Community

On Friday 6th February 2026 the Friends of St Amand’s welcomed parents, alumni, and supporters for a truly special evening of celebration and fundraising. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the historic Hendred House - kindly made available through the generosity of the Eyston family - the occasion was a wonderful blend of community spirit, generosity, and shared purpose.

A Unique Setting for a Special Cause

Hendred House provided an exceptional and atmospheric venue for the evening. Its rich history and character offered the perfect setting to bring together members of the St Amand’s community, reflecting the school’s own heritage and enduring values.

Guests were warmly received into an evening designed not only to raise funds, but to celebrate the community that surrounds and sustains St Amand’s Catholic Primary School.

Delicious Food and Memorable Entertainment

Guests enjoyed outstanding food from MJ Chef at Home, whose catering was a highlight of the evening and added a real sense of occasion. Alongside the culinary experience, the evening was brought to life with music performed by St Amand’s alumni—an especially meaningful touch that showcased the lasting connections formed within the school. The combination of great food, live music, and a relaxed, joyful atmosphere ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A Generous Community

Fundraising was at the heart of the evening, and the response from guests was truly inspiring. Through a lively auction and raffle, the event raised over £1,500, with attendees showing remarkable generosity in support of the school.

One of the most entertaining moments of the night came courtesy of the ever-popular Heads and Tails game, which saw one lucky winner walk away with a £250 prize, much to the delight of all involved.

Together these efforts will directly support the school, helping to fund resources, enhance learning experiences, and continue to provide opportunities that enrich the lives of St Amand’s pupils.

A Community Effort

Events like this are only possible thanks to the commitment and generosity of so many. The Friends of St Amand’s extend heartfelt thanks to:

  • The Eyston family for hosting the evening at Hendred House

  • MJ Chef at Home for providing exceptional catering

  • Our talented alumni musicians

  • Those who donated raffle prizes and auction items

  • And everyone who attended and contributed so generously

Looking Ahead

The success of this celebration fundraiser demonstrates the strength and spirit of the St Amand’s community. It is a reminder of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose: to support the education and wellbeing of the school’s children.

The Friends of St Amand’s look forward to building on this momentum with future events and initiatives. For those who would like to get involved whether through volunteering, attending events, or becoming a regular supporter your contribution will always be warmly welcomed.
